Google Analytics and Google Ads use the Global Site Tag with another piece of code, an event snippet, or a phone snippet, to track your conversions.

Google Ads

When you set up conversion tracking for your website, you’ll be able to view and copy the global site tag for your account.

To create a conversion action in your Google Ads account you need to follow the next instructions:

  1. Sign in to your Google Ads account.

  2. In the upper right corner, click the tools icon, and under "Measurement," click Conversions.

  3. In the summary, click "+ New conversion action".

  4. Choose from the 4 kinds of conversions sources you can track: Website, App, Phone calls, or Import.

  5. Select Website, then click Next.

  6. Enter your website domain and click Scan in order to:

    • Detect if your website has a global site tag.

    • View a list of URLs that you can track as conversions.

  7. You can set up your conversion by using a URL or manually.
